Thank you for learning more about volunteering with KidzTown. We hope you can take some time to look over the different roles and opportunities below to serve the kids in our Gateway community.
We strive to make it easy and fun for all our volunteers!
Materials are prepared and provided for you so you just show up on Sunday morning. For most volunteer positions, you serve one month on and one month off.
Not sure if KidzTown is for you? You can always shadow in KidzTown to see what being a volunteer looks like and if it's a good fit. Email volunteers@gatewaychurch.org and let us know you'd like to try a team and shadow in KidzTown!

KidzTown Volunteer Roles
BABIES & TODDLERS
Nursery
Hold, comfort, and play with babies ages birth – 18 months.
Serve every other month
Toddlers
Hold, comfort, and play with toddlers ages 18 months – 3 years. Lead short Bible lessons using music and easy crafts . . . all prepared and provided for you.
Serve every other month
PRESCHOOL
Large Group Leader
Set up and break down large group room, lead large group lesson using video, worship songs, and storytelling . . . all prepared and provided for you.
Serve every other month
Small Group Leader
Lead lessons during small group times using Bible stories, crafts, and activities . . . everything is prepared and provided for you.
Serve every other month
Floating Leader
Help where needed, model good participation, and assist in bathroom if needed.
Serve every other month
Substitute
Fill in where needed in a small group or floating leader role.
Scheduled as “on-call” every other month
KidzTown Buddy
Assigned to support one or two children and stay with them as they transition through each activity.

ELEMENTARY
Large Group Leader

Lead a specific grade table, teaching Bible lessons during small group times using Bible stories, crafts, and activities . . . everything is prepared and provided for you.

Floor Coordinator – Greet all families, direct new families to proper rooms, monitor hall bathrooms, communicate as needed with the check-in desk, help with all transitions kids make between classrooms, and check parent tags during pick-up.

ALLERGIC TO KIDS?
Check-in Host
Welcome all families, smile, assist new families through the check-in process, troubleshoot any check-in difficulties, communicate with Floor and Department Coordinators as needed, set up and take down check-in desk equipment, and monitor the check-in hallway.
Serve once a month
Event Planning
Help to plan, prepare, and pull-off large and small KidzTown events for children and families at Gateway.
Serve off and on throughout the year
KidzTown Security
Help keep the KidzTown elementary and preschool areas secure by checking for parents’ tags as they return to pick up their children at the end of service.
Serve every other month
Mid-Week Prep Team
Help KidzTown to be ready for Sundays and events by prepping materials.
Serve mid-week as needed
