Gateway's New Giving Platform

Gateway has a new giving platform! We’re rolling out RebelGive, a platform that will make giving easier for you and will save our church several thousand dollars each year. With system changes come a little bit of housekeeping, so we put together a list of FAQs.

Why are we making a change in our giving platform?

To save money!

Online giving typically has been difficult for both churches and givers. You’d think you were giving $100 for example, but instead, our church would only receive $96.80 after the platform and processor took a cut. That’s why we’re excited about our new platform, RebelGive. They never take a cut of any gift you give, have negotiated the lowest market rates for our church, and together with your help, make sure all the convenience costs of digital giving are completely covered. In this way, 100% of your intended gift always goes directly to our church.

Are there fees involved with the online giving platform?

If you connect your bank account with RebelGive, there is no fee added to your gift.

Gifts made with a debit or credit card have a 1.9% fee. (You’ll see it added at the end as a “convenience fee.”) The platform passes on the giving costs to the giver so the church receives 100% of every gift. This change will save Gateway several thousand dollars each year!

Why am I charged a “convenience fee”?

Unlike a number of other giving platforms, Rebel Give doesn’t skim off the top of any tithe or offering that comes through the platform.  Any fee you see will be sent directly to the processor for the transaction fee. That being said, credit (and debit) card companies and banks charge a small fee every time money is moved digitally. If you’re at all concerned about the 1.9% fee on your gift, you can connect your bank account to avoid fees, no matter the size of the gift!

How do I transition to the new platform? When do I need to do this?

To transition, simply begin using the new platform here. 

If you have recurring gifts, we cannot transfer them to the system, so it will need to be done manually. We can cancel your gifts on the backend or you can log into your old account to cancel. You can then set up a recurring gift on RebelGive. 

Can I still login to my old giving account?

Yes, you can still access your old account by logging in here. This will be available during the transition until we fully make the change to RebelGive.

Can I set up recurring gifts?

Yes, you can set up recurring gifts every week, every two weeks, every month, or twice a month. You can also choose to do a one-time gift.

Is it easy to use?

Yes! Simply go to and tap the giving icon in the corner. This works on both desktop and mobile. The system will guide you through giving at Gateway. Always secure and encrypted.

How will I receive a year-end giving statements?

RebelGive will send you an email with instructions on accessing your year-end giving statement. If you also gave using the prior system (ACS), you will receive a separate statement for those contributions.

I’ve never given before and the idea feels overwhelming.

Start small. Start with where you are. Begin with praying about one small step of faith you could take.

Consider checking out Financial Peace University (FPU), which we offer at Gateway on an ongoing basis. FPU is a practical class about taking control of your finances, getting out of debt, planning for your future, and living so that you can give generously.

What are the various funds I can give to at Gateway?

  • The General fund supports the overall function of Gateway. This is where the vast majority of gifts are given.
  • The Building fund supports paying for improvements to the building and the mortgage.
  • The Gateway Forward fund has been set up for special gifts related to expanding Gateway's capacity to serve the community through hiring of new staff positions.

How does Gateway spend its money?

We want you to feel confident that Gateway faithfully stewards the money and resources it receives. We strive to be transparent, wise, and prayerful in operating our church finances. You should know that Gateway maintains strict confidentiality over giving.

Each year, an annual budget is prayerfully prepared and is presented at a community meeting that is open to anyone. Members of Gateway vote to approve the budget. Our budget includes expenses such as building operating costs, payroll expenses, and the costs of running ministries such as KidzTown, youth, and local and international missions.

We deeply desire to steward our finances in a trustworthy way that each person is able to focus on what God is calling him or her to give with confidence that it will be used wisely to further the kingdom of God.

What organizations or missionaries do you support?

Missions are a priority at Gateway. Big or small, we believe God calls us to serve those in need. We support a variety of missionaries and mission efforts, both local and international. To see a list of the people and organizations we support, please visit our missions page on our central hub.
