Volunteer Needs

Serve your community and Gateway

Blood Drive

  • Saturday, November 7
  • 2 shifts: 10 am -1 pm and 1 - 4 pm
  • Arrive 30 minutes before your shift for training
  • Help with one of jobs: pre-temperature taking, registration, and canteen
  • Hours count towards LCPS Service Award requirements


Precautions: Masks required, social distancing


Care Team

Meal Team


  • Prepare and deliver meals to individuals undergoing treatment for cancer and other serious health issues
  • Currently need to support 4-6 families with meals


Commitment: Once or twice a month

Precautions: Coordinate a contactless deliver with the recipient


Move Team

 

  • Help single moms and others in need to move homes  
  • Small handyman projects


Commitment: As needed

Precautions: Masks and social distancing when possible

 

Weekly Errand Assistance for Homebound

 

  • Pick up and deliver food pantry items to the recipient


Commitment: Wednesdays, weekly rotation

Precautions: Coordinate a contactless deliver with the recipient


Elderly Care

 

  • Visitation
  • Helping with daily tasks

 

Commitment: Weekly rotation

Precautions: Wear a mask, social distance when possible


In Person Services

Media Team

 

  • Help run the presentation system 
  • Assist with running sound (must have experience)

 

Commitment: Sunday mornings, typically 1-2 times a month, training provided

Precautions: Masks, social distancing

 

Live Stream Team

 

  • Assist with running livestream services (on site)
  • Serve as online hosts and respond to comments (remote)

 

Commitment: Sunday mornings, typically 1-2 times a month, training provided

Precautions: Masks, social distancing

 

Set Up/Take Down Team

 

  • Set up chairs and carpet squares before service
  • Take down chairs and remove carpet squares after the service

 

Commitment: Sundays, typically 1-2 times a month, in person church attendance not required

Precautions: Masks, social distancing


Youth Ministry

Youth Outdoor Service 


  • Adults to help supervise and lead as needed

 

Commitment: Sunday nights, rotating basis

Precautions:  Outside, social distancing, masks encouraged 


Outdoor Projects

 Outdoor Work Day


  • Saturday, October 10 from 10 am - 2 pm
  • Spreading mulch 
  • Concrete crack repair  
  • Cutting and stacking firewood around property (would need chainsaws)
  • Kids over 10 are welcome to help with raking


Precautions: outside, easy social distancing, masks recommended


Outdoor Projects


  • Forming a team of individuals who could provide assistance with outdoor projects such as weeding, mulching, painting, and maintaining property
